9 members of family found dead at home, cops suspect suicide

According to reports, the bodies were found in a house at Mhaisal in the Sangli district, around 350 km from Mumbai.

"In a residence, we discovered nine bodies. Three victims were discovered in one location, while six others were discovered at other locations throughout the house, "Dikshit Gedam, the Superintendent of Police in Sangli, said.

When asked if it was a "suicide pact," he stated the police were on the scene confirming the cause of death.

Another police official stated that they believed it was a suicide. However, the exact cause of death will be determined after the postmortem.

Notably, all the deceased were suspected of consuming poisonous substances.

Further investigation is underway into the matter.
