Digital Desk: Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday that Britain's Queen Elizabeth II is under medical supervision as doctors are "concerned for Her Majesty's health." The announcement comes a day after the 96-year-old monarch cancelled her Privy Council meeting and was advised to take rest.
According to the palace, the queen is "comfortable "and is still at Scotland's Balmoral Castle, where she has spent the summer.
Doctors have advised that the 96-year-old be kept under medical observation. A palace source told Reuters that immediate family members had been informed and rejected speculation that the queen had suffered a fall.
The UK Prime Minister, Liz Truss, stated that the entire country "is concerned" about Queen Elizabeth II's health.
"The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime," Truss tweeted after the Palace issued a statement. "My thoughts -- and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom—are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time," the UK PM added.

She had been spotted the day before choosing Truss as the nation's new prime minister at her Scottish estate, Balmoral Castle.
