The state government took the decision keeping in view the devastating situation across Assam due to the flood.
Digital Desk: The Assam Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, stated on Thursday that the summer vacation in the schools in the state has been preponed by five days.
The decision has been announced at the Janata Bhawan and the vacation will now start on June 25 and end on July 25, instead of July 1 to July 31.
According to reports, the vacation has been rescheduled for all elementary, secondary, senior secondary, and higher secondary schools across the state, he said.

Notably, most of the districts in the state have been affected by the extreme flooding scenario. Relief camps are being established in numerous schools. Due to flooding, a significant number of schools are also impacted and damaged, creating school closures that result in academic loss.
