The change in Akhilesh's stance is great news for the Congress, which has been facing opposition in Uttar Pradesh...

Digital Desk: President of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Akhilesh Yadav, has finally decided to support the Congress in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Since the SP had previously fiercely opposed the Congress and referred to it as a "B-team of the BJP," this represents a significant change in the party's position.

Mamata Banerjee, the chief of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the chief minister of West Bengal, recently called for opposition unity at the national level. According to Akhilesh, the party that is strong in a state should run candidates there.

The change in Akhilesh's stance is great news for the Congress, which has been facing opposition in Uttar Pradesh from the SP and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and where the Congress still occupies a precarious position.

The SP Chief stated that K. Chandrashekar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana, and Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, share the same opinion.

In any case, Akhilesh and Kumar met last month in Lucknow to talk about bringing the opposition together, but Akhilesh remained mute on Congress' participation in the platform.

The chief minister of West Bengal stated that her party will help the Congress wherever it is powerful on Monday. However, the TMC Chief also appealed to Congress for assistance in West Bengal, urging the grand old party to support regional parties wherever they are powerful.

"Let them fight wherever there is a powerful Congress. We will assist them; there is nothing wrong with that. However, people also need to support other political parties," Banerjee had previously told reporters.

Yadav stated that the people of the state of Karnataka are the winners in response to a query regarding the elections.

"The BJP traditionally uses hate-based politics, but in Karnataka, the people have rejected it. People have chosen not to vote for inflation, he said.

According to the SP Chief, votes cast in the Uttar Pradesh urban local body (ULB) polls using fake Aadhaar cards also rendered the BJP's victory "fake."

During the elections, officials carried out BJP leaders' directives, Yadav continued.

In the 17 Mayoral seats up for election in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP easily prevailed.

Thousands of fake Aadhaar cards, according to the SP Chief, were discovered in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh. He made the allegation without naming anyone, claiming a woman BJP legislator visited voting places and cast phoney ballots.

Yadav asserted that a transgender candidate won in Chandauli, but the result was changed. He said, "But after transgender people chased officials with sticks, the actual result was restored."

"Votes from Kannauj to Mainpuri were brazenly stolen. Everyone must be prepared to safeguard democracy, just as transgender people saved democracy by picking up sticks in Chandauli," he added.
