Following this revision, the new prices for various Amul milk variants, including 500 ml Amul buffalo milk, Amul Gold milk, and Amul Shakti milk, will be Rs 36, Rs 33, and Rs 30, respectively.

Digital Desk: The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) announced a Rs 2 per litre increase in the price of Amul milk across all variants, effective from Monday. This decision is attributed to the rising overall cost of operation and milk production. Consequently, the price of Amul milk pouches will rise by Rs 2 per litre nationwide.

Jayen Mehta, the Managing Director of GCMMF, explained that this adjustment, effective from June 3, aims to offset the increased production costs for farmers. This marks the first price hike since February 2023.

Following this revision, the new prices for various Amul milk variants, including 500 ml Amul buffalo milk, Amul Gold milk, and Amul Shakti milk, will be Rs 36, Rs 33, and Rs 30, respectively.

Despite the hike, GCMMF highlights that the Rs 2 per litre increase translates to a modest 3-4% rise in maximum retail price (MRP), considerably lower than the average food inflation rate. Moreover, it emphasizes that Amul has maintained stable prices in major markets since February 2023.

GCMMF emphasizes its commitment to passing on approximately 80 paise of every rupee earned from consumers to milk producers. This price adjustment aims to sustain fair milk prices for producers and incentivize increased milk production.
