APDCL is expected to raise power tariffs by 30 to 50 paise on February 1 due to increased fuel costs...

Digital Desk: Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) is expected to raise power tariffs by 30 to 50 paise beginning February 1 due to rising fuel costs.

According to sources, the increase would be collected as a Fuel and Power Purchase Price Adjustment (FPPPA) and will be charged to all consumer categories.

As the ratio of fixed and variable costs has gradually increased, the growth in power bills has been a huge burden for households, businesses, and industries.

The escalating cost of gasoline, diesel, and LPG gas cylinders in recent years has only contributed to citizens' financial burden.
