Medhi has been a follower of his father’s footsteps since his school days…

 

Digital Desk: Nalbari-dwelled poet, writer, journalist, and social activist Nipjyoti Medhi has been selected for the ‘Sambad Shiromoni-2024’ an international and a  winning prestigious award.


 (All Assam Journalists Association)AAJU’s assistant editor of the central committee, Medhi, has been awarded for dedication, sincerity, and courage in being committed to rendering service to society as a journalist and in different social activities.
 

Medhi has been a follower of his father’s footsteps since his school days, doing literary services, social work, and working at journalism. He belongs to Sialmari.  Moreover, Medhi has been providing news services for more than twenty years for several English, Bodo, and Assamese dailies, as well as writing at least thirty books on different subjects. Nipjyoti Medhi is the eldest son of the late Rohini Medhi, former AAJU president, and his father, Girija Medhi, was a teacher.

 

Medhi has previously received numerous state and national-level awards, including the Brave Journalist Award, the Best Rural Journalist Award, the Assam sahitya Award, the Bishnujyoti Award, the Mission North East Award, the Manav Seva Award, and the and the Bharataratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika National Award.

 

The award will be given to Medhi in Guwahati on October 27, as it has been stated by the organizers in the press release. It is quite a pleasure to see Nipjyoti Medhi being awarded this honorable title.
