Pune: A major fire broke out at Pune’s Fashion Street where at least 500 shops have been reported gutted in the fire.

Several fire tenders from Cantonment Fire Station and Pune Municipal Corporation Fire Brigade reached the spot to douse the fire. Around 16 fire tenders and 2 water tankers were deployed to extinguish the fire. The fire was doused on Saturday after almost 2 and half hours. No casualties of the fire have been reported so far but goods worth crores have been destroyed.

As per preliminary reports, the fire has started in the market area around 11 pm and soon spread to surrounding areas which housed several huts and shanties.

Pune’s Fashion Street on MG road is popular for having nearly 500 stalls selling clothes, footwear and accessories.
