Digital Desk: The first part of filmmaker Mani Ratnam's much-anticipated historical spectacle 'Ponniyin Selvan' a.k.a PS-1 is due to enter theatres on September 30 this year, according to Lyca Productions. While wishing its chairman Allirajah Subaskaran a good birthday, the production company tweeted, "Wishing our Chairman Allirajah Subaskaran a very happy birthday! The Golden Era comes to the big screens on Sept 30th!" It also released the first look poster of the film along with the tweet. The Mani Ratnam's film 'PS-1' is based on acclaimed writer Kalki's classic Tamil novel 'Ponniyin Selvan.' Mani Ratnam describes the film as his "dream project," and it stars Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Jayaram, Parthiban, Lal, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prabhu, and Prakash Raj. The project will be one of the most expensive in the country's film history. Each section in the film is handled by the finest in the business. The soundtrack for this epic history is composed by A.R. Rahman, while the cinematography is by Ravi Varman. Thotta Tharani, a National Award-winning art director, is in charge of production design, while Sreekar Prasad, Mani Ratnam's trusted editor, is in charge of editing.
