Guwahati: Prominent Assamese singer Dwipen Baruah’s wife Saiyeda Jyotshna Rahman passed away here on Friday, October 1.

As per reports, Jyotshan Rahman slipped on the bathroom floor after which she received serious injuries. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately was declared brought dead by the medical staff even after reaching the hospital.

For Dwipen Baruah, life only began at the age of 60 after he finally married his lady love Jyotshna after courting for 33 long years.

Dwipen met Joytshna Rahman during the filming of popular film 'Taramai' (1976). It was love at first sight for them but family compulsion stopped them from taking the plunge then.

Their romance and patience were the most talked-about things in Assamese cultural world and many films were inspired by them.
