Digital Desk: The security forces of the Indian Para Special Force has adopted the same 'line of defence' used by Union home minister Amit Shah on Nagaland killings. Upon hearing this matter, Special Investigation Team (SIT) was unconvinced by the 'line of defence' used by the army. On December 6, allegedly, the 21 Para Special Force based in Assam killed 13 unarmed civilians in Nagaland's Mon district. This incident created disorder among the state and raised questions regarding the implementation of special powers by the security forces upon civilians.  Two days after the Nagaland killings, Union Home Minister Amit Shah claimed in parliament that the happening was an outcome of "mistaken identity". Shah's statement drew criticisms from all ranges for being heartless and endeavouring a "rash cover-up" of the killings.  SIT has investigated around 37 security personnel regarding the Nagaland killings. They have stated that this killing occurred due to intelligence inputs they received, which proved wrong, leading to 13 tribal men. Its been two months and the security personnel were seen to adopt the same 'line of defence.' Out of these, 31 personnel were involved in the operation. The SIT has even questioned additional 85 civilians, mainly from Oting village, where the incident occurred.  Out of them, two statements have been recorded before a magistrate. These two witnesses, the SIT view, are "crucial" to the probe, and they won't budge from their statements. "All agencies develop a joint pool of intelligence information on a routine ground and operations heavily rely on these information. If any input goes wrong, it has a deep relevance on the subsequent operations planned," a senior police officer stated. The SIT has discovered that for December 4, intelligence inputs had been obtained from the Nagaland police, the IB, the military agency, and a few sister agencies. These inputs are now being closely monitored.
