'Superman: Legacy' will be released in theatres on July 11, 2025.

Digital Desk: We've got a new Superman! Hollywood actor David Corenswet has been cast in James Gunn's next picture 'Superman: Legacy,' replacing Henry Cavill, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.

According to media reports, the decision comes after the two were among the handful chosen to test in full costume and makeup for the roles in front of DC co-chairs Peter Safran and Gunn.

Henry Cavill had previously portrayed the part of the Clark Kent in DC Comics 'Man of Steel', 'Batman vs Superman', 'Justice League'.

Gunn had previously stated that he wanted to project a younger version of the caped crusader and had been looking for news leads for this new franchise for months. With the two roles secured, Gunn will look to fill the roles of Superman's arch-nemesis Lex Luthor, as well as other supporting characters like as Kent's pal Jimmy Olsen.

However, Warner Bros. has yet to make an official announcement at next month's Comic-Con in San Diego.

'Superman: Legacy' will be released in theatres on July 11, 2025.

When Gunn and Safran outlined their intention for the first phase of this redesigned slate earlier this year, 'Superman: Legacy' was front and centre as the project that would help launch this strategy.
