For spreading misinformation concerning national security, foreign relations, and public order, the government has blocked 22 YouTube channels.

Under the IT Rules, 2021, 18 Indian YouTube news channels have been blocked for the first time. The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has also blocked four Pakistani YouTube news channels.

The government said in a statement that multiple YouTube channels were used to post fake news about the Indian armed forces, Jammu and Kashmir, etc. The content ordered to be blocked also included some anti-India content posted from multiple accounts controlled by Pakistan.

In addition, the statement noted that these Indian YouTube channels published a great deal of false content related to the ongoing situation in Ukraine and sought to harm India's foreign relations.
