Digital Desk: Another disturbing instance occurred when an elderly woman from Bihar was allegedly cruelly smacked by two Sikh men for allegedly smoking within the hallowed compound of Amritsar's Golden Temple. On social media, a video clip of the purported event went viral. On Monday and Tuesday nights, the lady, who was turned over to police without a complaint, was spotted sitting in the temple's circumambulation with another woman and a child, surrounded by five to six Sikh guys. One of the males is seen pressuring the woman into acknowledging her mistake. According to a senior police official who declined to be identified, the woman was released since there was no proof of her smoking a cigarette at the Golden Temple, according to the Hindustan Times. An official stated that thrashing her was inhumane. When asked if the police would take action against those who assaulted her, he responded that no complaint had been received from the woman and that the gang that pummelling her seemed to be associated with a separatist Sikh organisation. In the video, the woman repeatedly asked for forgiveness, stating that she had smoked a cigarette and was unaware of the hallowed place's standards. The accompanying woman, on the other hand, claimed that the cigarette had just been pulled out and was not smoked. Her cries were unheard, and one of the men who hit her said she deserved to be given a lesson over and over. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) officials reported that after being captured, the woman was swiftly given over to local police.
