Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed in confidence that BJP is sure to win over 80% seats in this year's polls.

Digital Desk: Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, cast his ballot in the sixth phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on Thursday in Gorakhpur, predicting that the Bharatiya Janata Party will win over 80% of the seats in the state. Adityanath is running for the Gorakhpur Urban Assembly seat in the next elections. The Chief Minister urged the electorate to vote on development and security issues following the voting. In a statement to the press, he remarked, "I'm hoping for a huge turnout of voters. The BJP will establish a record in electoral triumph under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership by winning many seats. We will win over 80% of the seats in the state." "Vote for the BJP for growth and security," he concluded. Adityanath had said earlier that the UP Assembly elections had reached a critical stage. Each vote for the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party will help Uttar Pradesh become India's most prosperous state. In an apparent dig at the Samajwadi Party (SP) after one of the families of a convict in the Ahmedabad serial bomb blast case was seen campaigning with party head Akhilesh Yadav, he said, it's time to choose between the BJP and terror-supporting people. "The Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh have reached a critical juncture. In the last five years, you've witnessed development initiatives ranging from opening AIIMS to the Kushinagar International Airport. It's time to choose between us and those who support terrorism. Each of your votes would help Uttar Pradesh become India's most prosperous state," according to Adityanath. Before the polling for the sixth phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections began on Thursday morning, Adityanath performed prayers at Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur. The sixth phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections began today at 7 a.m. and will end at 6 p.m. Polling is underway in 57 Assembly constituencies across ten districts, including Gorakhpur, Ambedkarnagar, Ballia, Balrampur, Basti, Deoria, and Kushinagar. On March 7, voters will go to the polls for the seventh and final election phase. The results of the election will be announced on March 10.
