The movie, which is a certified remake of the Tom Hanks-starring 1994 Hollywood blockbuster Forrest Gump, recounts the incredible journey of a simpleton named "Laal" as he pursues his ambitions and finds love. The movie's surprisingly poor IMDb rating came as a huge shock to the creators.
On IMDb, 12,000 votes have resulted in a rating of 3.5 for "Laal Singh Chaddha." This movie has a very low rating, and according to IMDb, it is Aamir's lowest-rated movie to date. In fact, "Laal Singh Chaddha" has a lower IMDb rating than several of his notable flops, like "Mela," "Dhoom 3," and "Thugs of Hindostan."

Haters are circulating Aamir Khan's controversial "India's growing intolerance" statement from the past, and a few of Kareena's controversial statements from the past as well.

On August 11, members of a Hindu organization protested "Laal Singh Chaddha," demanding that it be banned in Uttar Pradesh because the actor mocked deities. Members of the Sanatan Rakshak Sena chanted anti-film slogans and staged a protest in front of the I P Vijaya Mall in Bhelupur.
Over two decades, the adaptation of the Hollywood film "Forrest Grump underwent several changes. Atul Kulkarni worked on the script for ten years before purchasing the remake rights for another ten. Aamir Khan acquired the film's rights in early 2018 with the assistance of Los Angeles-based producer and director Radhika Chaudhari, and the title was announced on March 14, 2019.
