The filmmaker immediately clarified: "It was not at all intended to harm anyone's feelings. My favourite character in the Mahabharata is Draupadi, but because the name is so unusual, I only remembered the figures that were associated with it.
Digital Desk: A new controversy has been sparked by
filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, whose tweets routinely land him in deep water. A
complaint was filed against him as a result of his offensive remark about
Droupadi Murmu, the BJP's presidential candidate, which included a reference to
the "Mahabharata."
If DRAUPADI is the president, who are the PANDAVAS? In
addition, what exactly are the KAURAVAS? the tweet read.
Senior Telangana BJP member Mr. Gudur
Narayana Reddy took issue with Mr. Varma's post, claiming it was demeaning to
the SC/ST community. "I don't think he will tweet or say such a horrible
thing again about anyone," he continued. "The police have assured us
that they would take strong steps against him."

A different BJP
MLA from Telangana criticised Ram Gopal Varma, saying the director tweeted such
remarks while "drunk." "Varma constantly tries to be in the
spotlight by making such polarising comments," he continued.
Recently, Mr.
Varma stepped in to mediate a dispute between Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn and
Kannada actor Sudeep Sanjeev about Hindi's status as the country's official
language. He accused Bollywood actors of being "insecure and jealous"
of their southern rivals' success in a tweet.
