Digital Desk: On her birthday, March 21, next year, Bollywood
star Rani Mukerji will make her debut as an author with her "candid,
intimate" autobiography, HarperCollins India announced on Friday. Rani's
journey as an actor in the film industry is described in the book as
"deeply personal and disarmingly honest."
According to Mukerji, the autobiography delves into her
personal trials and tribulations, as well as the impact they had on her as she
navigated the movie industry and her career. "I have never spoken my heart
out about my life and my journey in cinema in the 25 years that I have so
lovingly spent in the Indian film industry. We are constantly judged as women
in the film... I haven't taken the time to pause and reflect on my life, both
retrospectively and introspectively "In a statement, the 44-year-old actor
said
She went on to say
that the memoir is her way of remembering what she has been through since
childhood.
Rani was described
as an actor "who stands on the might of her powerful portrayals of women
in her films" by Bushra Ahmed, the senior commissioning editor at HarperCollins
India.
"Rani Mukerji was everything an actor should be for
many of us who grew up in the 2000s: beautiful, refreshingly different, and a
compelling performer. She is from a time when stars sparkled on the silver
screen without the glitz and glam of social media fame "Ahmed stated.
