    Digital
Desk: On Thursday, the seventh season of Koffee With Karan began. Ranveer Singh
and Alia Bhatt sat on the renowned Koffee couch for the debut edition of the
Karan Johar-hosted celebrity talk show. They appeared together in the 2019
movie Gully Boy, and they are currently filming Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani,
which is being directed by Karan. Ranveer claimed on the first Koffee With
Karan episode of season 7 that Bombay Velvet 'unceremoniously dumped' him.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who starred alongside Anushka Sharma in the 2015 movie,
was ultimately cast in the starring role.

    A
game called Koffee Bingo was played by Ranveer and Alia in the Koffee With
Karan episode. They had to select what applied to them from a selection of
expressions including ‘didn’t speak to my partner for almost a week’, and
‘quickie in the vanity van", among others. Karan questioned Ranveer on his
decision to "be rejected for a role" and whether he meant Bombay
Velvet. Then Ranveer made it clear that he was "not rejected." He was
actually "unceremoniously dumped." Ranveer claimed that at the time,
his "star worth wasn't high." In addition to Vicky Kaushal and Karan,
Bombay Velvet had a poor box office performance.

    "I
wasn't turned down, K." (Karan Johar). Because I couldn't support the
budget at the time, I was abruptly let go. My star rating wasn't great. But, as
Ranveer noted, things have changed. Ranveer's most recent appearance was in the
critically panned film Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which was released on streaming
services in May 2022 after a theatrical run. Cirkus, which Rohit Shetty is
directing, is one of his forthcoming projects. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will
also include Ranveer and Alia. Last seen in Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia. Her
future projects include Heart Of Stone, her Hollywood debut, Brahamastra Part
One: Shiva alongside Ranbir, Farhan Akhtar's Jee le Zaraa with Priyanka Chopra
and Katrina Kaif, and Jee le Zaraa.
