The number of active cases in the country has decreased to 3,380, accounting for 0.01% of overall infections. In the last 24 hours, the active Covid-19 caseload has decreased by 22 cases.
According to official data, the national Covid-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.8 percent.
The death toll now stands at 5,30,690, with nine people killed. While Kerala reconciled six deaths, two deaths were reported from Maharashtra and one from Delhi in the last 24 hours, according to data updated at 8 a.m.
The number of persons who have recovered from the virus has increased to 4,41,42,608, with a 1.19 percent case fatality rate.
According to the ministry's website, 220.03 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered across the country so far as part of the statewide vaccination drive.
India's Covid-19 tally had reached 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. It exceeded 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20, and one crore on December 19.
Last year, the country passed the two crore mark on May 4 and the three crore mark on June 23. On January 25, this year, it surpassed the four-billion-dollar record.
