    Zika virus, dengue, chikungunya: Here is the difference between symptoms

These three diseases are all brought on by mosquito-borne viruses and are spread by Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes, which bite on the same day.


    Zika virus

    Chikungunya

    • vomiting and 
    • maculopapular rashes are all symptoms of a sudden high fever (raised bumps on a flat red patch of the skin)


    Zika is more common in youngsters and expecting moms than in dengue and chikungunya. They all incubate for about the same amount of time. While cases of Zika and chikungunya are more likely to present with muscular aches and agonising joint pain, dengue is more typically characterised by high fever, headache, and retroorbital pain.
