A top specialist at Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Dr. Dhiren Gupta said those who delay getting tested for COVID and don't act in a COVID-appropriate manner end up in difficulty.
Digital Desk: Amid the rising number of Covid 19 cases across the country an expert on Thursday said the majority of cases have mild symptoms.
Dr. Nikhil Modi, a senior pulmonologist at Apollo Hospital in Delhi, stated that although symptoms of COVID are modest, cases are undoubtedly increasing.
"The number of COVID cases is undoubtedly increasing; yesterday, Delhi recorded more than 2000 cases. However, the majority of patients only have very minor symptoms "The doctor noted.
Regarding the risk to those with comorbidities, Dr. Modi remarked, "Patients with diabetes and other difficulties have been reporting to us at an age of 80 to 90, although all of them have moderate symptoms."
A top specialist at Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Dr. Dhiren Gupta said those who delay getting tested for COVID and don't act in a COVID-appropriate manner end up in difficulty.
Some people don't act in a COVID-appropriate manner, and only when they get into problems do they be tested, according to Dr. Gupta.
"People's careless behaviour and a lack of mask use are the causes of the rising COVID numbers. Another factor might be weather fluctuations, "added he.
Dr. Gupta added that the majority of the few recorded deaths were brought on by comorbid conditions rather than COVID infections.
"Most cases are minor, more closely resembling flu-like symptoms such as coughing, fever, and occasionally a high fever lasting two or three days. Symptoms typically subside within the first five days or within a week "explained he.
Dr. Gupta added that the COVID is still in progress because new tests for the infection are coming back positive in those who tested positive three months ago.
Some of the swine flu patients, according to him, are also going to Apollo hospital. There are now two swine flu patients.
As per the data shared by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India too witnessed an increase in COVID-19 infections on Thursday, reporting 19,893 cases over the previous 24 hours.
