Digital Desk: CNN quoted a statement from the UN assistance organisation operating in the area on Monday, stating that since the fighting between Hamas and Israel began, at least 102 United Nations service members have died in Gaza.

It stated that since the beginning of the conflict, at least 27 UN employees had suffered injuries.

"In the last 24 hours, one UNRWA staff member was killed with her family in the north of the Gaza Strip due to strikes, raising the death toll to over 100," the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said in a statement.

As per the CNN cited reports, UNRWA said in their statement, "This is the highest number of United Nations aid workers killed in a conflict in the history of the United Nations."

On Monday, United Nations offices around the world lowered their flags to half-staff. According to the statement, all UN staff members spent a moment of silence to grieve and commemorate their colleagues who died in Gaza.

Hamas launched an attack on Israel on October 7. As a result, Israel launched a furious counter-offensive against Hamas targets in Gaza.

More than 1200 people have perished in Israel since Hamas initiated the offensive on October 7, according to Israeli police. According to Palestinian authorities, there were at least 11,180 people in Gaza as of November 13, as reported by CNN.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant stated that Hamas has lost control of the Gaza Strip as Israel's Defence Forces advanced to entirely conquer Gaza City, according to The Times of Israel.

Following The Times of Israel, Gallant stated that Israeli soldiers are advancing in every area and terrorists are retreating south.

"There is no Hamas force capable of stopping the IDF," he claimed. The IDF is making progress in every location. The Hamas movement has lost control of Gaza. Terrorists are escaping south, while citizens raid Hamas positions. They have lost faith in the government.
