Digital Desk: On October 16, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) issued a three-hour notice advising northern Gaza residents to flee to the south. This move is in preparation for their upcoming ground operation against Hamas.

The IDF promised inhabitants of a safe passage from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., recommending them to use this time to travel south from northern Gaza. Israeli military spokesman Richard Hecht stated that an aerial, naval, and ground assault on Gaza is being planned.

The IDF accused Hamas of hindering evacuations by blocking highways and provided photographic evidence of Hamas cars preventing access to Wadi Gaza.

The IDF further claims that Hamas built tunnels intentionally in civilian areas of Gaza, effectively deploying inhabitants as human shields.

The Israeli military has already mobilised 10,000 soldiers and multiple tanks near the Gaza border, while the Israeli Air Force continues to pound Hamas positions. The IDF also confirmed the death of another senior Hamas terrorist, Bilal al Qadr.
