Islamabad: The Sikh community across the globe expressed their displeasure after a Pakistani model’s pictures at revered Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur went viral on social media. Netizens have pointed out that the model shared pictures of herself ‘bareheaded’ and hurt the Sikh community’s feelings.
In an Instargam post on Monday, a clothing brand – Mannat Clothing – posted pictures of model Sauleha, taken at Kartarpur Sahib.
Revered as a holy site in Pakistan, Sauleha’s ‘bareheaded’ photoshoot in front of the Gurdwara drew flak from users following which Sauleha deleted the pictured from her Instagram account and later apologized.

Sauleha apologised for her actions, saying she did not intend to hurt anyone and the pictures were intended to be a memory of her trip to Kartarpur Sahib.
"Recently I posted a picture on Instagram that was not even a part of a shoot or anything. I just went to Kartarpur to learn about the history and know about the Sikh community. It wasnt done to hurt anyone sentiments or anything for that matter. However, if I have hurt anyone or they think that I dont respect there culture. I am Sorry," she wrote in her Instagram post.
Both the brand and model insisted the pictures were not part of a photoshoot.
"The pictures posted on our accounts are NOT part of any shoot done by Mannat Clothing. These pictures were provided to us by a third-party (blogger) in which they were wearing our dress. Please note that Mannat has absolutely NO role in deciding how and where the pictures were taken," read the statement by the clothing brand.
"However, we accept our mistake that we should not have posted this content and we apologise to every single person who was offended by this. All the holy places are very sacred to us."
"The pictures and posts have been removed from all our media channels. Again, we apologise wholeheartedly for hurting the public sentiment. Believe us when we say we had no such intention," it added.
This may be noted that the Pakistan Police on Monday initiated a probe against the Pakistani model and the clothing brand for hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community.
