Biological twins born to 19-year-old Brazilian with different biological fathers, here's what happened

Twins were born to a Brazilian woman, age 19, who has two distinct biological fathers. The doctor said that although it's an extremely rare incident, it is conceivable for it to occur.

Digital Desk: Surprising and unusual incidents continue to occur all across the world. However, an incident in Brazil has occurred that will leave you dumbfounded. A 19-year-old Brazilian woman gave birth to twin kids with different biological fathers.

According to the woman's doctor, it is a very rare occurrence, although it is not impossible to occur. The woman herself was stunned, claiming that she had no idea such a thing was possible. 

This happened because she had sexual relations with two other males on the same day. She gave birth to the twins 9 months later, and when their first birthday arrived, she began to worry about their father. 

As a result, she decided to have a paternity test. She gathered the DNA of the man she thought was the father, but only one of her children's DNA matched.

"I remembered having intercourse with another man and asked him to take the test, which came back positive." The outcomes astonished me. "I had no idea this could happen, and the babies seem incredibly similar," she told local media.

According to reports, her physicians confirmed that her pregnancy was uneventful and that the infants she gave birth to were healthy. Her name is unknown, and she is from southwest Goiás.

The woman's doctor, Dr. Tulio Jorge Franco, told local media, "It is feasible when two eggs from the same mother are fertilized by different males." The babies have the same genetic material as their mother, but they develop in different placentas."

Only 20 of these cases, in his estimation, have taken place globally to date. The phrase "Heteropaternal superfecundation" refers to this phenomenon. Animals, including cats, dogs, and cows, are the main hosts of this. Females consciously employ this strategy to raise their chances of having numerous offspring. However, humans do not need this, hence this process does not take place.

If the sperm remains in the female tract for a few days or a woman produces two eggs at once, this unusual event may occur.
