Inter-Services Public Relations, a Pakistan Army helicopter that was conducting
flood relief operations in Lasbela, Balochistan, has vanished.
The
media branch of the Pakistani Armed Forces, ISPR, said on Twitter that the
chopper was carrying General Sarfraz Ali, Commander of the XII Corps, and five
other top military officers who were overseeing flood relief efforts in
Balochistan.
In
Lasbela, Balochistan, while working on flood rescue efforts, a Pakistani army
chopper lost touch with ATC. The post stated that there were six people on
board, including Commander 12 Corps, who was overseeing flood relief efforts in
Balochistan and that a "search operation is underway."
The
helicopter reportedly lost communication with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) and
has been missing for around five hours, according to sources in the Pakistani
media.
