In May 2015, she was elected as the Conservative MP for Fareham. Suella Braverman was one of the first candidates to enter the race to succeed Boris Johnson as Tory leader and Prime Minister after the latter was forced to leave amid a slew of scandals, notably party gate.

Suella Braverman put her support behind Liz Truss after being knocked out of the race in the second round of the original voting. As prime minister, she has been rewarded with one of the highest seats in the UK government.

As mentioned, Suella Braverman will be in charge of programs such as the government's intention to relocate some asylum seekers to Rwanda, which has been challenged in court.

It is well known that the former attorney general supports Brexit. She is a well-known Conservative who supports Brexit and wants to take the UK out of the European Court of Human Rights in addition to making a clear rupture with Europe (ECHR).

In 2018, the Cambridge University alumna of Indian descent was married to Rael Braverman, and last year, her maternity leave made history by forcing a long-needed legislative reform. While she was gone having their second child, she continued to serve as a cabinet minister.

Braverman is a Buddhist who routinely visits the London Buddhist Center and took her oath of office in Parliament based on the "Dhammapada," the written collection of Lord Buddha's teachings.
