The Largest Whiskey Bottle in the world sells for 1.1 million British pounds

The Whiskey bottle is five feet and eleven inches long and can carry up to 311 litres of alcohol.

Digital Desk: Isn't this amazing to hear? Well, to give a brief annotation, last Monday, the world's largest bottle of whisky was auctioned for 1.1 million British pounds. Since 1989, The Intrepid has been distilled in the renowned Macallan Distillery in Scotland for 32 years.

Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky, a beverage firm, ultimately bottled it in a five-foot-and-11-inch-long container in 2021.

The bottle was certified by Guinness World Records as the world's largest bottle of Scotch whisky on September 9, 2021.

Lyon & Turnbull, a Scottish auction company, ultimately put the bottle up for auction on May 25, 2022. An unnamed foreign collector purchased the bottle.

The Intrepid bottle has a capacity of 311 litres of whisky. Portraits of 'the world's 11 most-celebrated explorers,' including Olly Hicks, Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Will Copestake, Dwayne Fields, and Karen Darke, are featured on the cover.

The Macallan Distillery also released 12 tiny replicas of the bottle, each filled with the leftover contents of the 32-year-old barrel.

According to Gavin Strang, managing director of Lyon & Turnbull," The Intrepid Collection, led by the world's largest bottle of Scotch whisky, has generated tremendous global interest," It's been a really exciting undertaking to be a part of, and Lyon & Turnbull is thrilled with the auction's outcome." he added.
