Kuala Lumpur: Bringing a new variation in the world of condoms, a Malaysian gynaecologist has created the world’s first-ever unisex condoms that will soon hit the international market.
Reportedly, the gynaecologist named John Tang Ing Chinh, who works at the medical supplies firm Twin Catalyst, invented the Wondaleaf Unisex Condom.
The condoms are made up of medical-grade materials. They are like an extended condom with adhesive flaps to attach to the body around the sexual organ to provide coverage and avoid skin to skin contact.
Moreover, the adhesive is reversible so that a man could wear it on his genitals with additional coverage, or a woman could insert the condom with the adhesive flap on her abdomen. This will give extra protection against skin-to-skin contact.

According to reports, the condom is made with polyurethane, a transparent material that is simultaneously strong and waterproof while also flexible and thin.
John Tang Ing Chinh told Reuters, “It’s basically a regular condom with an adhesive covering. It attaches to the vagina or penis, as well as covers the adjacent area for extra protection.”
“Based on the number of clinical trials we have conducted, I am quite optimistic that it will be a meaningful addition to the many contraceptive methods used in the prevention of unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.” Tang added.
Moreover, the Chinh claimed that this condom would reduce sexually transmitted diseases and accidental pregnancies, barely noticeable while worn.
As per the reports, the condom will be sold in boxes of two unisex condoms with a price tag of 14.99 Malaysian ringgit.
Already, the unisex condoms have passed several phases of clinical research and testing and will be available in the markets by December.
