Digital Desk: In the world of modern relationships are characterized by unsavory practices such as ghosting, orbiting and the relatively recent practice of breadcrumbing where one will give glimpses of attention, but the effects can be emotional. Both come with their unique problems, which makes it important to know how they impact people.
Ghosting: The Silent Break Ghosting is a social phenomenon whereby a person ceases to communicate with another person with no reason for doing so. This last element is arguably the most notorious of them all: ‘The “ghoster” quietly disappears, as such leaving the other party struggling to come to terms with several unknowns. Such a sudden break not only compromises some of people’s basic psychological requirements such as attachment, positive identification, and competence.
