Digital Desk: Social media has the power to influence someone’s life for the better or for the worst. However, Pradeep Mehra, the 19 year old boy’s life, was turned upside down as the army wannabe became viral for fleeing on the street with a rucksack after his work finished at midnight.
For background, National award-winning filmmaker Vinod Kapri uploaded a video of a young man racing through the streets of Noida around midnight. The filmmaker approached the youngster and inquired if he needed a ride. He, however, declined. He stated that he runs on purpose and does so every day after work since he does not have time to train for the Indian army.

Pradeep went popular when a video of this interaction was shared on social media. He’d informed Kapri that he needed to do some housework after work. That he lives in the city with his older brother. Their parents are in the town of Almora, Uttarakhand. Their mother is receiving medical attention in a hospital.
His personal troubles struck a chord with some people on the internet who promised to assist him. Shopper’s Stop, a mega retail chain, took the initiative and issued Pradeep a check for Rs 2.5 lakh for his mother’s health and to follow his aspirations.
Vinod Kapri tweeted about the same. “Midnight runner Pradeep Mehra is overwhelmed with all the love and support,” Kapri tweeted on March 30. “Shopper’s Stop gave a cheque of Rs 2.5 lakh to him for his mother’s treatment and pursue his dreams. God bless you guys.”
