Digital Desk: A 15-year-old teenager died on September 9 after his kidney surgery based on YouTube videos performed by a doctor. The accused doctor was identified as Ajit Kumar Puri, who runs a clinic in Madhaura in Bihar.
According to reports, the family members of the patient allege that the doctor was unqualified, and performed the surgery without their consent. The family members also alleged that the doctor performed an operation by watching YouTube videos to remove a stone from the patient's gall bladder.
The teenager reportedly experienced repeated vomiting, and the family members took him to Ganapati Hospital in Saran. Reportedly, the grandfather of the patient, told the media, "We admitted him, and the vomiting soon stopped. but Dr Ajit Kumar insisted on the need for surgery. He performed a surgery by watching YouTube videos, and later my son died."
According to the grandfather, the teenager's father was sent away by the doctor, and the doctor performed surgery without the family member's consent. After the surgery, the boy reportedly was in pain. Later the boy stopped breathing, he was revived through CPR, and then rushed to the hospital in Patna. The boy died on the way, and the doctor with his team fled leaving the body on the stairs of the hospital.
An FIR has been registered against the doctor and the employees of the clinic who were accused of the patient's death. The boy's body was sent for a postmortem.
