The showcase featured Assam’s Dhaki Tea and Meghalaya’s Lakadong Turmeric, along with Maharashtra’s Warli paintings, as a celebration of India’s unique cultural offerings.
This project (Tea and Turmeric)from North East were spearheaded by Mr. Hirak Jyoti Baishya, with the guidance of Cmde Rajiv Ashok, Managing Director of NERAMAC. The products Tea and Turmeric were exported by KADlien Innovation and Export Center, based in Guwahati, Assam.
Lakadong Turmeric: Sourced from Meghalaya, this turmeric is acclaimed for its unparalleled curcumin content, earning it the title of the world’s finest turmeric. The meticulous process involves handpicking, washing, slicing, sun-drying, and grinding the turmeric in small batches to preserve its purity and potency.
Dhaki Tea: Originating from Assam, this traditional tea derives its name from the ‘Dheki’, a classic rice-pounding tool used to process the tea leaves. Dhaki Tea offers a versatile brewing experience, allowing for steeping, boiling, or straining, and can be enjoyed with milk or served as refreshing iced tea.
Warli Painting: Hailing from Maharashtra, Warli painting is characterized by its simplicity and linear style, predominantly featuring triangular shapes. The art form captures the essence of social life, and drawing inspiration from everyday experiences.
The Trade Roundtable in Singapore served as an excellent platform to introduce and promote these exceptional products, further strengthening India’s position as a diverse and vibrant contributor to the global market. Shared by HCI in social media.
