Assam: ULFA (I) Denies Recruitment Drive Via Social Media
Digital Desk: As of Wednesday, ULFA (I) denied using social media to recruit members. Consequently, the outfit issued a statement alleging that the police and other forces were creating fake Facebook accounts in the name of the outfit and luring unemployed youth to join it.

"ULFA (I) want to make it clear that the outfit is not running any recruitment drives through social media," the letter said. Additionally, the outfit claimed that it is a conspiracy to tarnish its image and to allow the departmental leaders to gain promotion.

''If such conspiracy continues then ULFA (I) will launch an armed strike against those involved in the act. We have already recognized them,'' the statement added.

It is also to be mentioned that the hardliner ULFA(I) chief Paresh Barua is unlikely to come forward for negotiations until the parleys with the pro-talks faction are completed.
