    Digital Desk: The second and last round of voting for the 90-member Assembly in Chhattisgarh came to an end at 5 pm on Friday.  A voter turnout of 67.48 per cent was recorded till 5 pm across the 70 seats, voting for which was held on Friday.

    The Election Commission of India reports that the Raipur district had the lowest voter turnout, with 79.89%, and the Dhamtari district had the greatest voter turnout. In Chhattisgarh, voting for the second phase took place under strict security.

    Today's voting will decide the electoral fate of powerful figures such as Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, his deputy TS Singh Deo, eight state ministers, and four members of Parliament. The first phase of elections was held on November 7.

    Meanwhile, voting in Madhya Pradesh came to an end at 5 p.m. with a voter turnout of 71.11 per cent. Today, at 7 am, Madhya Pradesh went to polls to determine the fate of 2,533 candidates running for 230 assembly seats. Madhya Pradesh only had one phase of voting.

    Prominent political figures such as Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his predecessor Kamal Nath are involved in the contest. Voting took place until 6 p.m. in all assembly segments, except the Baihar, Lanjhi, and Paraswada seats in the Balaghat district; the Bichhiya and Mandla seats in the Mandla district; and the 40 polling sites in the Dindori district, which are all impacted by the Naxalite community and have a 3 p.m. voting period.

    Along with Chouhan and Kamal Nath, three other BJP Union ministers are also in the fray, including Narendra Singh Tomar, Prahlad Patel, and Faggan Singh Kulaste.

    Along with three other party Lok Sabha MPs, Rakesh Singh, Ganesh Singh, and Riti Pathak, BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya contested from Indore-1.
