Digital Desk: On the eve of Diwali, the Deepotsav program in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh aims to set a new Guinness World Record by lighting 24 lakh diyas, or earthen lamps, at 51 ghats.
The program is scheduled to begin at 3 pm and will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath.
A total of 25,000 volunteers are expected to light 24 lakh lamps.
A team from the Guinness Book of World Records will be present at the Deepotsav celebration to count the diyas using a drone camera.
The majority of the Uttar Pradesh government's cabinet ministers are expected to join the event in Ayodhya.
Following Deepotsav, there will be an amazing laser show.
Ayodhya Range Inspector General (IG) Praveen Kumar commented on the security arrangements for Deepotsav, saying, "The area has been divided into 14 police zones. Additionally, we have benefited from artificial intelligence. Both the traffic and the crowd will be controlled."
Last year, a new Guinness World Record when over 20,000 volunteers lit over 15 lakh diyas on the banks of the Sarayu River in Ayodhya.
