Digital Desk: The BJP released its fifth list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in April and May on Sunday, and it included some well-known figures. From various Lok Sabha seats, the party has fielded 111 candidates.
Stars Kangana Ranaut from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh and Arun Govil from his hometown of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh—who gained notoriety for playing Lord Ram in the hit TV series Ramayan—have both been nominated by the saffron party.
The BJP has also fielded other powerful candidates, including former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N Kiran Kumar Reddy from Rajampet, union ministers Nithyanand Rai from Ujiarpur and Giriraj Singh from Begusarai, industrialist Naveen Jindal from Kurukshetra in Haryana, JMM supremo Shibu Soren's daughter-in-law Sita Soren from Jharkhand's Dumka, former chief minister of Karnataka Jagadish Shettar from Belgaum in Karnataka, Sambit Patra from Puri in Odisha, Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh, and former chief minister of West Bengal BJP Dilip Ghosh from Bardhaman-Durgapur in West Bengal.
