Digital Desk: On Thursday, an incident occurred at Chandigarh Airport where a female CISF constable allegedly slapped Kangana Ranaut, a Bollywood actor and BJP Member of Parliament-elect from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
The alleged slapping incident is reportedly linked to Kangana's controversial remarks concerning Punjabi women involved in the farmers' protest. A video purportedly capturing the constable after the incident suggests that her mother was among the protesters.
The constable, identified as Kulwinder Kaur and hailing from Sultanpur Lodhi in Punjab, has been suspended promptly. She has served at Chandigarh Airport for the past two years and is married to a CISF personnel. Additionally, her brother, Sher Singh, holds a prominent position as the organization secretary of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee.
Kulwinder Kaur, a mother of two children, has been detained, and the CISF has initiated an investigation into the alleged incident.
According to Ranaut, while she was waiting to pass through security, the officer approached her and struck her in the face. Ranaut conveyed her account of the incident in a video message afterward, stating, "When I completed the security check and was waiting to pass the woman security officer, she came towards me, hit me, and started abusing me. When I asked why she did it, she said she supports the farmers."
