    Congress releases first list of candidates for Lok Sabha election, Rahul Gandhi to contest from Wayand
    Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will again contest from Wayand, a seat won in 2019.....

    Digital desk: The Congress party on Friday unveiled its initial slate of candidates, drawn from roughly eight states and union territories. The list of approved candidates includes Rahul Gandhi of Wayanad, Kerala, Telangana, Karnataka, Chattisgarh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Sikkim. Three seats have been kept on hold.

    Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will again contest from Wayand, a seat won in 2019. Of the total 39 candidates announced 15 are from Kerala, six each from Karnataka and Chattisgarh, four from Telangana, two from Meghalaya, and one each from Nagaland and Sikkim.

    Of the 4 names announced from Telangana, one is a woman. Patnam Sunita Mahendra Reddy will contest from the Chevella Lok Sabha seat. She is the wife of former minister Patnam Mahender Reddy for the BRS. She will take on ex-MP Konda Vishveswar Reddy of the BJP in this constituency.

    K Raghuveer Reddy, son of congress veteran K Jana Reddy has been announced from Nalgonda Lok Sabha constituency. This is the second ticket to the family, with K Jaiveer Reddy contesting and winning the Nagarjuna Sagar assembly seat in the 2023 election.

    As per the list for Meghalaya- Vincent H Pala will contest from the Shillong- ST seat, and Saleng A Sangma from Tura (ST). From Nagaland Congress has fielded S. Supongmeren Jamir and Gopal Chettri from Sikkim. Meanwhile from Tripura West, Congress has fielded Ashish Kumar Saha.
