Delhi man rapes, tortures woman for a week, used to pour 'hot dal' on her

Digital Desk: In a shocking incident in Delhi, a woman hailing from Darjeeling, West Bengal, was allegedly subjected to a week-long rape and torture by her friend, identified as Paras (28). The accused, identified as Paras (28), was booked for rape, sodomy, and causing hurt.

The victim had been staying with Paras in a rented house in Raju Park, Neb Sarai area of south Delhi, for around a month. The incident came to light on January 30 when the Neb Sarai police received a PCR call reporting a woman being beaten by her husband.

Upon reaching at the scene, the police discovered the victim with around 20 injury marks on her body. She was immediately rescued and sent to AIIMS for medical attention. Subsequently, the woman revealed the horrifying details of her torture.

According to the victim, she had befriended Paras over the phone and had been in contact with him for the past 3-4 months. Originally en route to Bengaluru for a job as a housemaid, she decided to halt in Delhi as Paras assured her assistance in finding a job. However, the situation took a dark turn as Paras allegedly began physically assaulting and sexually assaulting her.

In one particularly gruesome incident, Paras reportedly poured hot dal (lentils) over the victim, causing burn injuries. The woman's revelation led to the registration of an FIR on January 30, with charges under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 376 (rape), and 377 (sodomy) of the Indian Penal Code.

The accused, Paras, who hails from Uttarakhand and worked as a cook, was arrested on February 2. The police continue to investigate the matter, aiming to uncover further details surrounding this heinous crime.
