Digital Desk: In the early hours of Sunday, an earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale struck Haryana's Sonipat. The earthquakes were felt at 4 a.m. today, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

This came just days after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake slammed western Nepal, causing significant vibrations in numerous parts of north India, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. It was the most powerful in a series of quakes that hit the country in quick succession.

Earlier that day, on October 15, a 3.1-magnitude earthquake rocked Haryana's Faridabad, causing tremors to be felt throughout the Delhi-NCR region.

Before that, severe tremors were reported in numerous regions of northern India, including Delhi and its neighbouring territories, on October 3, after a series of earthquakes rattled Nepal in a matter of hours. The strongest registered 6.2 on the Richter scale.
