    Fake Job Racket Busted in West Bengal, 8 arrested

    Kolkata: West Bengal police on Wednesday have arrested eight people for alleged involvement in running a job racket at Purba Bardhaman district, West Bengal.





    As per the report, a company named ‘Future India’ duped at least 3,000 people from across the state. The company took Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 1 lakh from each candidate, promising them to provide jobs for the security of highways.





    Police official said, “On Monday night, eight officials of the organization gathered at an eatery in Palsit in the Memari police station area to sign agreements with prospective candidates. On getting to know that they were in the area, police reached the eatery and arrested the accused.”





    Further, the police added that a car and Rs. 1.10 lakh in cash, two registers, two pen drives, seven mobile phones and a list of those duped were seized from the accused.





    The accused were identified as Mihir Kumar Das, Ali Hossain, Hasibul Rahman, Abul Basad, Reazul Islam, Ibrahim Sheikh, Shamsul Alam Sheikh and Malay Karmakar.





    The accused were produced at the court on Tuesday. Mihir Kumar Das, Abul Basad were sent to police remand for five days while the rest were sent to judicial custody. The court of the Chief judicial magistrate will hear the matter again on July 11.
