Chandigarh: Former Punjab’s Chief Minister Amarinder Singh announced on Wednesday that he is forming his new political party. Amarinder Singh has already sent the name and symbol of his new political party to the Election Commission for its approval.
Highlighting the achievements of his tenure as Punjab CM, Singh addressed a press conference presented his report card. The Assembly Elections are scheduled to take place in Punjab early next year.

"In the course of these 4.5 years that I was there, here are all the papers on what we have achieved," said Singh while presenting the Congress' manifesto when he took over and "our manifesto of what we have achieved".
Responding to his detractors, Captain Amarinder Singh said: "They mock me regarding security measures. My basic training is that of a soldier. I have been in the service for 10 years - from my training period to the time I left the Army, so I know the basics."
Asserting that he was Punjab's home minister for 9.5 years and "somebody who has been the Home Minister for one month seems to say that he knows more than me".
"Nobody wants a disturbed Punjab. We must understand we have been through very difficult times in Punjab," said Amarinder Singh.

After bidding adieu to the Congress, Amarinder Singh had last week said that he would soon launch his own political party to serve the interests of the people.
