Digital Desk: In a scathing critique of the NDA government, Gaurav Gogoi, the Lok Sabha MP from Jorhat representing the Congress party, has voiced strong concerns regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding the NEET UG-2024 exam results. During a press conference on Thursday, Gogoi urged the government to introspect on its handling of student grievances and allegations of result manipulation in NEET.

"The government needs to deeply consider its response to the serious allegations of result manipulation in NEET," Gogoi asserted during the press briefing, echoing the concerns highlighted in today's Supreme Court hearing related to NEET UG-2024.

The Government of India disclosed to the Supreme Court that the scorecards of 1,563 students would be nullified, granting them the opportunity to reappear for the exam on June 23. Results for the re-examination are scheduled for release on June 30, with counseling set to commence on July 6. Students opting not to retake the exam will have their final scores adjusted after the deduction of grace marks.

The controversy surrounding NEET UG-2024 has prompted multiple students and parents to approach the Supreme Court, citing various issues including technical glitches, erroneous marks, discrepancies in ranks, and delayed result announcements on the official NEET UG-2024 website.

Among the petitioners is Alakh Pandey, CEO of Physics Wallah, who has expressed apprehensions over the purported arbitrary allocation of grace marks by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to over 1,500 candidates. Pandey has urged the Court to establish an expert panel to oversee an investigation into the examination process and results.

Notably, the NEET UG-2024 exam witnessed 67 students achieving a perfect score of 720, further adding to the complexity and intensity of the ongoing controversy.
