In Congress’s 5 poll guarantees, first job assured for educated youth

After submitting his nomination, Rahul spoke with reporters and claimed that the Lok Sabha election was a struggle for Indian democracy and the Constitution. 

Digital Desk: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi announced his party's five major promises on Wednesday ahead of the Lok Sabha election, just hours after submitting his nomination for the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala. Gandhi stated on X (previously known as Twitter) that the promises made by Congress are a "promise to provide every Indian with a better future, equal opportunities, and a fair share in India’s growth".

"Congress Party will empower every youth, woman, farmer, worker and marginalised citizen in India. We will ensure the benefits of the nation’s progress are not cornered by a few, but rather reach every household," Rahul Gandhi tweeted listing out the 5 guarantees.

Following are the first guarantees of Congress announced by Rahul Gandhi:

·        Pehli Naukri Pakki (First job assured): Every educated youth will have their first job guaranteed with Rs 1 lakh Salary

·        Mahalakshmi: One woman in every poor family will be given Rs 1 lakh every year

·        Sahi Daam & Karz Mukti (Right price and loan free): Loan waiver and legal status to MSP, according to the Swaminathan Commission’s formula

·        Shram Ka Samman (Honour for labour): Rs 400 per day, National Minimum Wage, including for MGNREGA

·        Ginti Karo (census): Every individual and every community to be counted through a nationwide census to ensure social and economic equity

Rahul Gandhi arrived in Wayanad earlier in the day with his sister Priyanka Gandhi and other party leaders, and he gave his nomination papers to the District Collector, who doubles as the Returning Officer. 

After submitting his nomination, Rahul spoke with reporters and claimed that the Lok Sabha election was a struggle for Indian democracy and the Constitution. 

He said, "There is a force that is protecting our country's democratic nature and constitution, and there are forces on one side that want to destroy both of these things." 

The Wayanad MP further said that the country's democracy and constitution were being targeted by BJP members, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. 

He continued, "Those trying to prevent that from happening are the Congress and the INDIA bloc."
