Digital Desk: At a time when people are concerned over the rising cases of the Omicron variant, a video making the rounds on social media, has brought relief to the people.
Reportedly, a 34-year-old person from Bengaluru was first to be recovered from Omicron, who shares his experience of the journey of recovery through a video on social media, which has gone viral.
In the video, he explains, “I was infected with covid-19 during the second wave. I had two doses of covid vaccination, but despite this, I was tested positive for the Omicron variant. I suffered more with the Delta virus than the Omicron variant.
Sharing details of the treatment, he said, “There is no separate treatment as such for the Omicron variant. Vitamin-C tablets and antibiotics were given. Since there was no tiredness and symptoms were too mild, I worked from the hospital ward for a week.”

According to reports, the person was infected with Omicron after arriving from South Africa last November. Post arrival, he was tested negative in RT-PCR tests at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIAL) in Bengaluru, but on the third day during his home isolation, he developed symptoms, following which he was found Omicron positive.
“After arriving from South Africa, he was tested negative in RT-PCR tests at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIAL) in Bengaluru. But on the third day of his isolation, he developed itching in his throat and cough symptoms, after which an RT-PCR test was done again at the private lab, and the result confirmed the Covid-19 virus. Later, the sample were sent for genome sequencing in which an Omicron variant was found.” reports said.
As per government guidelines, he got admitted to the designated hospital. Later, he was tested negative twice in RT-PCR tests. He was discharged after confirming that he is healthy through blood tests and x-ray.
“After arriving from South Africa I isolated myself from my family members so they didn’t catch the virus. People who came from abroad should maintain distance and follow quarantine rules set by the government. If symptoms develop, they shouldn’t be nervous and immediately should get tested.” He said in the video.
Notably, he is the third person to get infected with the Omicron variant in the state. The other one tested positive for the new variant is yet to be discharged. Another South African national fled away from India by producing a fake RT-PCR report.
