Maharashtra Government likely to arrest Sameer Wankhande, but with prior notice

Mumbai: Following the bail hearing of Aryan Khan in the mega drug bust case the Maharashtra Government is after NCB’s zonal director Sameer Wankhande now.  The Maharashtra Government is likely to arrest Wankhande in connection to the allegations of extortion and corruption against him.

However, On Thursday, the Maharashtra Government informed the Bombay High Court that it is not likely to arrest Wankhande without giving him prior notice of at least three working days.

"We assure the court that three working days' notice will be given (to Wankhede) before arrest by Mumbai Police," an official from the Mumbai Police said.

Wankhande, on the other hand, has also moved to the Bombay High Court on Thursday in search of interim protection from any arrest, or any forceful action against him.

Besides, he also challenged the Mumbai Police’s decision to form a four member team to investigate the charges of corruption and extortion against him following the cruise drug bust case where Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan is also involved.
