Karnataka Hijab row has stretched its scope over boundaries now. A fight that started in a small region of Karnataka has now reached national headlines and platforms.
Human rights activist Malala Yousafzai on Hijab Row stated that Muslim girls not being allowed to enter school premises wearing hijab is horrifying. On Tuesday, Malala tweeted, "Refusing to let girls go to school in their hijabs is horrifying. Yet, objectification of women persists — for wearing less or more. Indian leaders must stop the marginalization of Muslim women."
Protests in support and opposition to the hijab increased assertiveness at campuses across Karnataka, driving the state government to shut all high schools and colleges for three days.
On Tuesday, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai declared that all the high schools and colleges in the state would remain shut for three days. Alongside, the Karnataka High Court today will resume the hearings for the plea submitted by the students on Hijab row.
According to sources, instances have been recorded where the right-wing activists forced the school and college boys to wear saffron shawls to protest against wearing hijab by Muslim girls in Karnataka.

Pro-hijab organizations opposed the restrictions on Muslim girls outside numerous institutions in Karnataka, while anti-hijab parties, predominantly formed of right-wing outfits, distributed saffron shawls to several Hindu students.
This controversy started last month when six girls from government-run pre-university college in Karnataka's Udupi were told not to wear hijabs. This mandate soon spread to other educational institutions in the state.
On this, the college principal stated that he wants to maintain the uniformity of the classroom. However, before the college authorities took any resolution, this sensitive topic created differences among students across the state. Now, the state has been divided into opinions and perspectives.
