Digital Desk: Indian Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi is gearing up to embark on his inaugural foreign trip to Italy following his swearing-in ceremony on June 9. This trip comes hot on the heels of his victory in the Lok Sabha elections and following the oath-taking ceremony.

A personal invitation extended by Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni to attend the impending G7 Summit warmly greeted PM Modi. In response, he expressed gratitude for the invitation and extended warm wishes to the people of Italy on the occasion of their 79th Liberation Day anniversary. The G7 Summit, scheduled from June 13 to 15, promises to be a pivotal platform for global deliberations on various critical issues.

PM Modi's discussions with PM Meloni revolved around advancing the G20 India outcomes at the G7 Summit, underscoring their commitment to deepening the strategic partnership between the two nations.

In addition to the G7 Summit, PM Modi has also been formally invited to the 'Summit of Peace in Ukraine' in Burgenstock, Switzerland, set for June 15 to 16. However, his attendance remains uncertain due to the absence of an invitation to Russia, a significant player in the ongoing conflict. The summit aims to pave the way for a sustainable peace resolution in Ukraine, aligning with India's advocacy for peaceful resolutions to international conflicts.

PM Modi's firm belief in dialogue and diplomacy as the means to resolve disputes was echoed in his statement, "This is no era for war." Despite invitations extended to him, there has been no official confirmation regarding his participation in the Peace Summit. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, hinted at an impending announcement closer to the summit dates, keeping the world apprised of India's diplomatic agenda.

As anticipation builds for PM Modi's international engagements, his upcoming visits hold the promise of fostering stronger ties and addressing pressing global challenges through dialogue and cooperation.
